about

Dear Mr Glass,
thank you very much for writing and publishing your etudes. They were the best exercises I could think of. In the past, I didn't like your music too much. I thought it was too busy and with too many notes. Then I heard the recording of your etudes, by Vikingur Olafsson. I learned to listen to the many notes as one sound. I wanted to learn and record the piano music of Arvo Pärt, and somehow your etudes slipped in.
As Mr Pärt writes so few notes, and you write so many, I arranged a marriage between the two of you. It worked out very well, even too well, meaning, I had to push my own music between the two of you in order to keep existing. And that was the best feedback I could get.

Dear Mr Pärt,
I believe Arinushka is healed a long time ago. I tried to find out who she is, however, there is nothing to be found, except your music. I played the six variations many times when my kids went to bed. I tried to translate the simplicity into my own six variations, but it appeared to be impossible. If I leave out all unnecessary notes, your music comes out again.
I start this record with an etude by Philip Glass, I add some sort of recitative to escape the busy world and enter the shrine of healing, repose there a while and return to the busy world with another of Philip's fine etudes.
